Tower Construction & Modification Services

Tower services

GOCC designs, builds, and modifies carrier-grade towers from our headquarters in Fredericksburg, Texas. Since founding the company in 1993, we've grown from turnkey telecommunications and microwave relocation work into a full-service tower construction and modification contractor serving carriers, utilities, municipalities, and enterprises across the United States. Whether you need a new build, a structural upgrade for a carrier add, or a foundation repair, our in-house crews and engineers manage the project from pre-construction through certified welding and closeout.

Why Carriers and Site Owners Choose GOCC

Tower work is unforgiving — a missed load calculation, a rushed weld, or a disorganized crew can put a schedule and a structure at risk. GOCC keeps everything in-house: structural mapping, fabrication, foundation remediation, inspections, and erection are all handled by our own teams rather than a string of subcontractors. That means one point of accountability, consistent documentation, and crews who know the equipment and the standards before they ever climb.

Safety is built into how we run every tower project, not treated as a separate checklist. Our crews follow OSHA guidelines and industry-leading protocols, backed by regular safety audits and comprehensive training. You can read more about how we approach safety on our safety and compliance page.

Tower Modification Services

Most tower work isn't a brand-new structure — it's a modification to support a new carrier, a new antenna configuration, or a structural condition that needs correcting before it becomes a liability. GOCC's tower modification services include:

Structural Mapping and Analysis

Before any mod work begins, our engineers map the existing structure and analyze its capacity against the proposed loading. This tells you — and the carrier — exactly what the tower can support and what needs to change.

Parts Fabrication and Galvanization

When a mod calls for custom brackets, mounts, or reinforcement members, we fabricate and galvanize those parts rather than waiting on an outside vendor, which keeps the project moving on the schedule you've committed to.

Base Plate and Foundation Remediation

Foundations settle, corrode, and age. Our crews handle base plate replacement and foundation remediation so the structure meets current load and safety requirements without a full rebuild.

Comprehensive Inspections and Testing

Every modification is backed by inspection and testing before it's signed off, so the paperwork matches the physical work and the site is ready for carrier acceptance.

Our in-house crews specialize in every aspect of tower erection and modification, which means the same team that maps the structure can also fabricate the parts, do the certified welding, and close out the inspection — no handoffs, no gaps in accountability.

New Tower Construction and Erection

When a site calls for a new structure rather than a modification, GOCC manages the build from civil work through commissioning:

  • Tower installation and civil construction
  • Electrical system integration
  • End-to-end project management across the build
  • Quality assurance and audits at each project milestone

We also support the work that surrounds a new build or major mod, including co-locations and carrier adds, line and antenna commissioning or decommissioning, and power system installation and maintenance. If your project involves structural modifications requiring certified welding and parts fabrication, that work stays in-house as well.

Engineering Support Behind Every Tower Project

Tower construction and modification work is only as good as the engineering behind it. GOCC's in-house engineering team supports tower projects with tower analysis, mapping, and modification design; remediation and foundation design; electrical and grounding design; FAA compliance studies and R56 audits; geotechnical studies and boundary surveys; and structural mount analysis, including Class 4 engineering services. Having engineering and construction under one roof means fewer handoffs between the people who design the fix and the crew who builds it.

Who We Serve

GOCC supports carriers, utilities, municipalities, and businesses that need dependable, code-compliant tower infrastructure — from a single carrier add on an existing monopole to a multi-site modification program. If your project also touches small cell/DAS, microwave, or fiber at the same site, GOCC can coordinate that scope alongside the tower work rather than requiring a separate contractor for each piece. You can see the full range of what we handle on our wireless infrastructure solutions page.

How a Tower Construction or Modification Project Works With GOCC

  1. 1. Scope the project. Tell us the site, the carrier or structural requirement driving the work, and your timeline.
  2. 2. Engineering and mapping. Our engineers evaluate the existing structure or design the new one, including load analysis and any required compliance studies.
  3. 3. Fabrication and remediation. Parts are fabricated and galvanized in-house, and any foundation or base plate work is scheduled alongside the structural mod.
  4. 4. Construction and erection. Our crews perform the civil work, erection, and electrical integration, following the safety protocols that govern every GOCC project.
  5. 5. Inspection, testing, and closeout. Each project closes with inspection and testing so you have documentation that the work meets the required standard before the carrier signs off.

Built Safe, Built to Last

GOCC's crews treat safety as non-negotiable on every tower project, from modifications to new installations. That discipline — combined with keeping engineering, fabrication, and construction in-house — is how we keep carrier schedules on track without cutting corners on the structure.
